20 Questions with Celeb Stylist Diana Schmidtke

1. He has already worked with an impressive number of celebrities in show business. Is there anyone who would like to work with whom you have not done yet?
Of course! It is difficult reduced to a single person, but if I had to choose someone who can work tomorrow, I would choose the president Barack Obama.

2. When is discovered that he wanted a career in the beauty industry?
Actually, it was an evolutionary process that began when she was 18 years old. (My mother, however, will tell you that started in 4th grade when my teacher confiscated my comb during class.) For me, I remember the journey that begins when my hairdresser asked me his hair model in the beauty of the Midwest Show in Chicago. Throughout the day, I had the opportunity to walk around the convention and talk with people about their careers. On the way home, I decided to use my creativity to make people feel good about themselves. I immediately enrolled in beauty school.

I have seen both types very successful artists. I am not a born artist. I attended many kinds of hair and makeup, even after graduating from beauty school. Even now as an educator, I continue to take the time to perfect my skills.

4. How can young men and women who aspire to work in industry of beauty
start your trip?
The knowledge and passion are the keys to success in this race. Only when you understand how the industry may direct your passion and learn to make it work for you.

5. When you got your big break?
I believe that luck is a combination of preparation and readiness. For three years, went to the library every week, research films, art and fashion. The Internet did not exist like today! And just when I was ready to throw in the towel and return to Chicago, I met a freelance artist named Marvin in my evening away. Because he was not one of the guests, I showed up, which led to a conversation of my dream. I explained my story and share my dream of being a freelance hair and makeup artist signed with Celestine Agency, to which he replied: "I am an artist signed by the Celestine Agency." I was surprised! I've been an artist with the Agency for Celestino the last 10 years.

6. What are some career goals that people should determine for themselves before attempting a career in beauty?
Commitment: A commitment to you never to give up his dream.
Knowledge is Power: Know your craft, understand their industry and network with all the world within your industry.
Budget: You must be willing to invest in yourself and in your career.
Location: You need to live in a city that can offer Are you the type of job you are looking to perform. (Self-employment is available in major cities)

7. What inspired you to write his book, "Visits direct?
In the past 10 years, the number one question I have asked is, "How I can get into the industry?" I wrote "Shortcuts" to encourage and educate candidates on how to make their dreams come true. My goal was to create the first all-inclusive guide resources for hair and makeup and how to break into the fashion and entertainment industry.

8. Did your career as a free makeup adventure?
Actually, I started my career as a stylist. After beauty school, I worked in a salon in Chicago. I enrolled in special effects constitute the school when I moved to Los Angeles.

9. What are some ways in which teen Vogue readers can land work independent in the first place?
A portfolio of independent artists is the key destination for your first job. A new artist builds its portfolio with photos of your test shoots. In a test of shooting the photographer, stylist, model, makeup artist, stylist and agree to donate their time in an effort to create new images for their portfolios.

10. What is the hardest part of working in beauty?
Say no to one of my favorite clients because I am already booked that day.

11. You have a goal set for yourself that are yet to come?
Yes, I have ideas for several more hair and makeup books. Today, I'm designing a class that focused on creating portfolios of artists, students leave the class with pictures in hand. And my personal goal is to retire in Costa Rica.

12. Are there different ways to take for those who are interested in the beauty of fashion and television those who want to work in big Hollywood projects?
Yes, the race for film and television is completely different from a career in fashion. To begin, movie and television are the union of fashion and non-union artists are artists. Everything depends on the avenue of art to perform. That's why it important to understand the different options available to you as an artist. Once a seasoned artist, these two sectors will cross for you. The possibilities at this time can be endless.

13. What kind of projects have the most fun working?
My favorite projects are the magazine shoot editorial. I love the art of photography. Capture a moment that affects people and lasts forever is really something special.

14. How is beauty related with art?
In its purest form, beauty and art are the same thing.

15. Is the beauty school to take a necessary step towards a career in entertainment?
It all depends on the career within the entertainment industry you choose to follow. Although very encouraging education, certain careers in the entertainment industry do not require a cosmetology license.

16. If you had not decided to become a makeup and hair, which
he does not believe race would have taken place?
A personal chef. I like to eat good food and I love to entertain.

17. Who inspired you most during your career in beauty?
Stylist Orlando Pita. His art is diverse, sophisticated and timeless.
